Trustee Highlights CBL Participation in 'HuffPo' Op-Ed

St. Lawrence University Trustee S. Georgia Nugent, a senior fellow with the Council of Independent Colleges, penned an opinion piece for the Huffington Post, in which highlighted student interest in community-based learning.

"Perhaps most distinctive about this generation of college students is their desire to serve," Nugent wrote. "St. Lawrence University, a liberal arts college in the North Country region of New York, offered 17 such courses last year, enrolling 275 students, engaging 30 community partners, and logging more than 7,000 hours of activity in the community. This is not atypical."

Nugent's piece was written in contrast to an opinion piece by the president of the National Association of Scholars, which had run previously in The Chronicle of Higher Education.
