CANADIAN MUSIC GROUP TAMARACK PERFORMS AT SLU

CANTON - Canadian folk-music group Tamarack will perform at
St. Lawrence University on Friday, February 14, at 8 p.m. in
Eben Holden. The event is open to the public, free of charge.
Drawing on traditional sounds and contemporary influences
for their timeless melodies, Tamarack's music explores the
Canadian landscape and the people and events that shape the
country's national character.
The Ontario-based trio includes Alex Sinclair (guitar,
mandolin, vocals), Molly Kurvink (bass guitar, vocals) and
Duncan Cameron (violin, mandolin, concertina, bodhran,
pennywhistle, guitar, bazouki, vocals). Tamarack has performed
throughout Canada, the United States, England and Scotland,
performing at festivals, concerts, schools, libraries and almost
every other kind of venue imaginable.
Tamarack's 16th and latest CD is Tree, commissioned by
the Tree Canada Foundation, whose mission is to protect and renew
the forests within the urban areas of Canada, and to educate
people about the value of their neighborhood trees.
