One of seven individuals being honored with awards for distinguished service, Whittier has been a key figure in the advancement profession for more than 30 years, serving as mentor, teacher and friend to hundreds of professionals. He served as a CASE trustee from 1976-1984 and was chair of the CASE board in 1982-83. A 1957 graduate of St. Lawrence, Whittier was awarded one of the first Fulbright Fellowships to college administrators, and received the Hesburgh Medal for service to CASE and education.
