SLU Students Help Children Stay Active with Sunday Funday Event
CANTON – First-year students from St. Lawrence University, in conjunction with the Center for Civic Engagement, have planned an event to promote fun and healthy living through physical and educational activities for children in the local community.
Sunday Funday will take place Sunday, April 7, from noon to 3 p.m. in St. Lawrence’s Leithead Field House. The event is free and open to children ages 5-12 and their parents.
Children will enjoy gym and artistic activities like face-painting, musical chairs, tie-dying (those interested are encouraged to bring their own white T-shirt), dizzy bat, crab soccer, trail mix making, tug-o-war, parachute game and the army crawl.
Students from the First-Year Seminar course, “Leadership in Action,” taught by Assistant Coordinator of Student-Athlete Development Deshaya Williams, will be hosting the event, which is sponsored by the Center for Civic Engagement and St. Lawrence University’s student government, the Thelomathesian Society,
