Students Attend Boston Alumni Career Panel
Not all St. Lawrence University students headed for the Gulf Coast beaches during their spring break. Fourteen St. Lawrence University students instead attended the second annual Career Panel held in Boston on March 13. The event was hosted by the St. Lawrence University Alumni Executive Council in conjunction with Career Services.
The panel was titled “Business 360: Where Do I Fit In?” and it gave students a chance to hear different perspectives from alumni in the fields of information technology, human resources, sales, marketing, and finance. Alumni discussed their career path since graduating from St. Lawrence and advised current students on how to dress and answer questions during job interviews, first job expectations, how to utilize resources at St. Lawrence before graduation and how to network.
Participating on the panel were:
- Robyn Kennedy, '07 - Director of Marketing, BioBliss
- Alex Moore '05 - Mid Market Sales, Yahoo
- Kassandra Reyell '06 - HR Manager, PWC
- Conor McGrath '07 - Finance Manager, Latitude Beverages
- Scott Cipriano - '04 - Program Manager, Safari Books Online
The panel was moderated by Dick Taggart, '83 of executive vice president at State Street Corp., and the event was coordinated by Lissa Scull Short '83, St. Lawrence Alumni Executive Council, and Carleen Pallante, associate director of Alumni and Employer Development.
