SLU Gallery Exhibiting Student Works In Two Shows

CANTON - A juried exhibition of works by students will be in the Richard F. Brush Art Gallery at St. Lawrence University from April 9 through 22. Juror David Beck will give a talk on Thursday, April 9 at 7 p.m., with a reception to follow. Both are open to the public, free of charge.

For the exhibition, students were asked to create up to four works that "explored the concept of be(com)ing." Beck teaches digital art at Clarkson University, and has shown his work extensively throughout the United States. His artwork is featured in the book GameScenes: Art in the Age of Videogames (John & Levi, 2006), the first volume entirely dedicated to game art.

Works by graduating seniors will be on exhibition in the Brush Gallery from April 30 through June 1; an opening reception will be held on Thursday, April 30, at 7 p.m.

Student exhibitions are made possible with assistance from the Jeanne Scribner Cashin Endowment Fund and the Barnes Endowment Fund.

For more information, or to arrange individual or group tours, contact the Brush Gallery at 315-229-5174.
