STUDENT WORK ON VIEW IN BRUSH GALLERY AT SLU
CANTON - The Barnes Endowment Annual Student Juried Exhibition will be in the Richard
F. Brush Art Gallery at St. Lawrence University from April 20 through June 5, opening
with a public reception to honor the participating artists on Thursday, April 20, at
7 p.m. Juror for this year's exhibition is Greg Stahly, of the art department at SUNY
Potsdam.
The Barnes Endowment Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition is open to all St. Lawrence
University students, who may enter up to four works of art in any media for
consideration. The exhibition is supported by the Jeanne Scribner Cashin Endowment for
Fine Arts and the Carlyle and Betty Barnes Endowment.
In addition, the gallery is hosting three individual exhibitions of student work:
- Last In, First Out: Senior Show by Spencer Homick '06, of Coventry, Connecticut;
the exhibition includes paintings, texts, musical scores and annotations.
- Lavapiés: A Photo-Installation by Jenna Stearns '06, of Trumansburg, New York;
examining immigrant voices and images of women in Madrid, Spain.
- Trini to the Bone!: Photographs by Melina Cruz '06, of Bronx, New York; the exhibition
includes photographs taken by Cruz during her spring 2005 semester of study in Trinidad.
