St. Lawrence to Host Winter Weekend Celebration
St. Lawrence University will host its annual Winter Weekend Carnival from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, in the Sullivan Student Center. The event is free and open to the public.
Families and children are invited to enjoy a photo booth, bounce houses, horse and carriage rides, free snacks and beverages, crafts, and more. Parking is available at the Brewer Bookstore, Lot E on Park Street next to the bookstore, and Lot H across from Griffiths Arts Center. Also on Saturday, St. Lawrence will host its second live TEDxStLawrenceU event, beginning at noon on Saturday, Feb. 3, in Gulick Theatre. Eight student, faculty and alumni speakers will cover a range of topics throughout the afternoon. Tickets are free and can be reserved online at www.tedxstlawrenceu.com, where the event will also be livestreamed.
Women’s hockey will play at Appleton Arena at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2, against Yale and again at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, against Brown. Most other winter sports teams will be competing away. For more information on St. Lawrence University Athletics, visit www.saintsathletics.com.
Visitors to campus can also view the Richard F. Brush Art Gallery’s latest installation, which features the work of 37 artists who teach at liberal arts institutions within the New York Six consortium of colleges, which includes Colgate University, Hamilton College, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Skidmore College, St. Lawrence University, and Union College.
