SLU Professor to Speak About Reform in Turkey
CANTON – Howard Eissenstat, St. Lawrence University assistant professor of history, will present “A Historic Opportunity: Amnesty’s Work on Turkey” on Wednesday, April 10, at 6 p.m. in the Sykes Formal Lounge. The event is open to the public, free of charge.
Eissenstat, who is a Turkey country specialist for Amnesty International, will discuss Turkey’s record of attacks on freedom of expression and Amnesty International’s current efforts to push it toward real and lasting reform.
Amnesty International is a global movement of people fighting injustice and promoting human rights.
The event is sponsored by SLU Amnesty International.
