JOURNALIST TO SPEAK AT ST. LAWRENCE

CANTON – Michelangelo Signorile, journalist, author, political activist 
and radio talk show host, will give a talk at St. Lawrence University on 
Tuesday, April 6, at 7 p.m. in the Laurentian Room of the Student Center. 
His talk, which is open to the public free of charge, will be followed 
by a book-signing and reception.
      Signorile has been an editor-at-large and a columnist at The 
Advocate, and a columnist for OUT magazine. In addition, he has written 
several books, including 1993's Queer in America: Sex, the Media and 
the Closets of Power, and 1995's Life Outside: The Signorile Report on 
Gay Men, which was a finalist for the New York Public Library Book 
Award for Excellence in Journalism.
      Signorile's work has appeared in many publications, including The 
New York Times, USA Today, The New York Observer, Gay.com, New York 
Magazine and the Village Voice. He now writes a column in the weekly 
New York Press that is syndicated nationally.
