SLU HOLDS EVENT TO THANK COMMUNITY PARTNERS

CANTON - St. Lawrence University will hold a luncheon on campus 
March 27, in appreciation of its partners in service learning 
in the community.
	The organizations, from throughout the North Country, 
provide service-learning opportunities to St. Lawrence students 
through the curricular Service Learning Program. In the program, 
students assist community organizations and agencies for academic 
credit; departments all across the University curriculum offer 
courses that carry service-learning credit.
	Community partners who have been invited to the event, 
hosted by President Daniel F. Sullivan and Ann Sullivan, include 
the Department of Social Services, the Ogdensburg Correctional 
Facility, the Riverview Correctional Facility, Reachout, the Canton 
Neighborhood Center, the Office for the Aging, the Supreme Court, 
the St. Lawrence County district attorney's office, the public 
defender's office, the St. Lawrence County historian's office, the 
Canton Economic Development office, North Country Legal Services, 
Surrogate Court, Citizens Against Violent Acts (CAVA), Renewal House, 
Canton Daycare, St. Lawrence County Court, the Village of Canton, 
Canton Central School, United Cerebral Palsy Association, Tree of 
Life Midwifery, St. Lawrence Chapter of ARC, Akwesasne Adult Education, 
St. Lawrence County Youth Bureau, St. Lawrence County government, 
the Johnson O'Malley Tutorial Program, the Akwesasne Freedom School, 
Bittersweet Organic Farm, Family Court, Little River School, Norfolk 
Community Youth Center, Canton Head Start, the St. Lawrence 
Psychiatric Center, Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Heuvelton Central 
School and Planned Parenthood.
