'Gathering For Reflection' At SLU Marks 9/11 Anniversary

CANTON - Music and readings will be included in "Remembering 9/11: A Gathering for Reflection in Words and Music" on Sunday, September 11, at 7 p.m. in Gunnison Memorial Chapel at St. Lawrence University. Performances by orchestra and chorus will take place, with Christian Hosmer conducting and Sondra Goldsmith Proctor as organist and choir director. The event is open to the public, free of charge.

Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber will be performed, as well as an "open reading" of Requiem by Gabriel Fauré for choir and orchestra. Those attending may bring their own score of Requiem or borrow one at the event. Everyone is invited to participate, by singing or listening.

To participate in the chorus, contact Proctor at chapel@stlawu.edu. Rehearsals will be held Monday, August 29; Monday, September 5; and Friday, September 9, at 7 p.m. in Gunnison Chapel.
