WRITER-IN-RESIDENCE PART OF SLU SERIES

CANTON - Heather Sellers, the Viebranz Visiting Writer at 
St. Lawrence University, will give a reading from her recent 
works on Wednesday, February 6, at 8 p.m. in the Common Room 
of Sykes Residence Hall, part of the St. Lawrence University 
Writers Series. The event is open to the public, free of charge.
	Sellers is the author of Georgia Under Water, a collection 
of linked stories published in 2001; the book was chosen for 
the Barnes & Noble "Discover Great New Writers" program. In 
addition, Sellers is the author of a chapbook of poems, Your 
Whole Life, and Never Told Me, a manuscript of short fiction 
that placed second in the Associated Writing Programs Intro 
Awards. Her fiction has been recognized by the Best American 
Short Stories and New Stories From the South anthologies and 
has appeared in several journals. A former fellow at the 
Millay Colony and winner of the Paul Bowles Prize, Sellers 
is associate professor of English at Hope College. Her reading 
is part of her semester-long residency as the Alfred C. Viebranz 
Visiting Writer, during which she also teaches undergraduate 
fiction courses.
