Seattle Baroque Soloists To Perform At St. Lawrence
CANTON - The touring ensemble Seattle Baroque Soloists will perform in
concert at St. Lawrence University on Friday, February 8, at 8 p.m. in Peterson-Kermani Performance Hall. The event is open to the public, free of charge.
The performers are Ingrid Matthews, violin; Tekla Cunningham, violin; Byron Schenkman, harpsichord; John Lenti, lute; and Nathan Whittaker, cello. They will perform music of the Italian Baroque era, including pieces by Rossi, Frescobaldi, Corelli and Vivaldi.
The ensemble features five principal players from the Seattle Baroque Orchestra, forming a chamber group of Baroque specialists to represent the orchestra beyond its beloved home city. Formed in 2010, the ensemble in in the process of recording its first CD.
