SALVATORE CANIA JOINS SLU DEVELOPMENT STAFF

CANTON - Salvatore Cania, of Hannawa Falls, has been appointed 
director of planned giving at St. Lawrence University. Currently 
the director of gift planning at Clarkson University, Cania will 
begin his new duties March 10.
	 He holds a bachelor's degree and master's degree from 
SUNY Potsdam, where he has worked as executive director of the 
Community Performance Series; development and fiscal management 
assistant to the dean of the Crane School of Music; and director 
of gift planning and donor relations. Cania has been a member 
of the Clarkson development staff since 1999.
	In addition, Cania is a member of the Board of Directors 
of Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley and a member of the steering 
committee for the Leave A Legacy organization. He has also served 
as a member of North Country Public Radio's Community Advisory 
Board.
	At St. Lawrence, Cania will be responsible for 
administering the planned giving program, including life-income 
gifts, bequest intentions, bequest administration and gift planning.
