James Bay Hydro Project Topic For Presentation At SLU

CANTON - St. Lawrence University Director of the Outdoor Program Phil Royce will give a presentation about a canoe expedition to Hudson Bay, Canada, on Thursday, May 8, at 7 p.m. in Room 123 of the Griffiths Arts Center on campus. The event is open to the public, free of charge.

In July of 2007, Royce and several St. Lawrence students went on a canoe expedition on the Nastapoka River, examining the environmental and cultural effects of the James Bay Hydroelectric Project in that region. The presentation will include photographs and video of the expedition, along with information about the rarely traveled river, the Inuit population and the area's wildlife.
