25TH ROTARY CRITICAL ISSUES CONFERENCE SLATED AT SLU

CANTON - The 25th Annual Rotary Critical Issues Conference will be
held June 27 through July 3 at St. Lawrence University, bringing together
outstanding American and Canadian high school students to participate in
an examination of national, bi-national and global issues.
	Approximately 20 students are expected to participate in the
program.
	Students conduct research throughout the week on a specific topic,
under the guidance of faculty. Each student then completes a paper in their
area of concentration, and finished papers are presented to government
leaders and sponsoring Rotary Clubs in Canada and the United States.
	Topics this year are "No More Kosovos: How To Stop Human Disasters,"
led by Emeritus Professor of Government Robert Wells, conference director;
and "Preventing Violence In Our Schools," led by Stephen Todd, a 1992
graduate of St. Lawrence and a social studies teacher in the Watertown
school district.
