A List 1/13/03 TOP CANADIAN PROS TO PLAY AS SLU DEDICATES NEW SQUASH COURTS CANTON, N.Y. - Jonathon Power of Montreal, the current second-ranked player in world professional squash rankings, will play fellow Canadian Shahier Razik in an exhibition match as part of the dedication ceremonies for the Robie Squash Center at St. Lawrence University on Saturday, January 25. The dedication of the new squash center will take place at 4 p.m. as part of a full day of activities. The Saint men's squash team plays Middlebury at 8 a.m. and Colgate at noon, while the Saint women's team takes on William Smith at 10 a.m. The Colgate and Middlebury men's teams will play at 2 p.m., prior to the dedication ceremony. The match between Power, who was ranked number one in the world in April of 2001, and Razik, who ranks third in Canada and 40th in the world, will take place at 4:30 p.m. Power is coming off a November victory in the YMG Capital Squash Classic in Toronto and is the number-one ranked Canadian player. He was a quarterfinalist in both the Qatar Open and U.S. Open in the fall and was ahead in the semifinals of the World Open in Antwerp last month, before being forced to withdraw due to injury. Razik was a finalist in both the Brazil and European Opens in 2002. Power and Razik will lead a squash clinic from noon to 1:30 p.m. on dedication day as well. The new nine-court Robie Squash Center, completed in the fall of 2002, features glass-wall international competition courts, a central spectator area and reception lounge.
