Visiting Writer Richard Rubin Part Of SLU Writers Series

CANTON - Viebranz Visiting Writer Richard Rubin will speak and read from recent work in an appearance at St. Lawrence University on Tuesday, December 2, at 8 p.m. in the Common Room of Sykes Residence Hall. The event, open to the public free of charge, is part of the University's Writers Series.

The author of the memoir Confederacy of Silence: A True Tale of the New Old South, Rubin is a regular contributor to The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, Smithsonian and The Atlantic. His New York Times Magazine article, "The Ghosts of Emmett Till," was included in The Best American Crime Writing 2006. Rubin's fiction has also been published in several magazines and journals, including The Oxford American, The Southern Review and The Virginia Quarterly Review.
