'Rock Style' Middle-Eastern Music Presented At SLU By Raquy & The Cavemen

CANTON - Raquy and the Cavemen, drummers and multi-instrumentalists who bring hard rock energy to the mystical rhythms of the Middle East, will perform on Wednesday, November 2, at 8 p.m. in The Underground, E.J. Noble University Center at St. Lawrence. The event is open to the public, free of charge.

The band brings traditional Middle Eastern music and modern drumming to a heady peak. Raquy Danzinger has traveled extensively, including journeys to the Middle East, Egypt and India. She performs with the Dumbek (Arabic hand drum) and the Iranian Kamanche, which is much like a violin. Liron Peled has a rock drumming background. Together they've created a fresh new sound, bringing out the best of both genres.
