CANTON-SLU RACE WEEKEND RESULTS ANNOUNCED
CANTON - A total of 187 runners participated in the third annual Canton-St. Lawrence
University Race Weekend, held May 6, along with over 100 area citizens and St. Lawrence
students who volunteered. The day included the Canton-Potsdam Hospital Marathon, the
St. Lawrence County Dunkin' Donuts Half-Marathon and the Wellness Initiative 5K.
Runners from the local area, Canada, and from as far away as California and Wisconsin
participated.
Two world record-holders took part in the marathon - the runner holding the record
for the longest period of time between marathon wins and the runner having
completed the most marathons. A complete list of age-group winners and finishing
times, plus race photos, can be found on the Web site www.stlawu.edu/marathon/.
Overall winners of the three races were:

Organizer Bill Burns said, "On behalf of the race planning committee, I'd like to thank
all the runners, volunteers and race sponsors. An event like this does not happen
without a large number of people coming together to work toward a common goal.
Whether you volunteered on race day, ran or walked in one of the events, were an
event sponsor or came out and cheered on the participants, thank you for taking
part in the day."
