COLLABORATIVE ART EVENT SET AT FORMER GLASS ONION
CANTON - "Obsessive Consumption," a public art event, will take place at the former
Glass Onion restaurant, 25 Court Street in Canton, on Friday, May 5, from 5 to 8 p.m.
and on Saturday, May 6, from 8 to 11 p.m.
Organized by Assistant Professor of Fine Arts Amy Hauber, the two-night event - which
is open to the public, free of charge - will include performance art; live music by
30% Polyester, a Potsdam-based rock band; sculptural and site-specific installation;
interactive art; video; photography and refreshments. Participants include students,
faculty and staff from St. Lawrence University; students and faculty from SUNY Potsdam;
and other members of the local community.
A faculty member since 2004, Hauber teaches courses in sculpture, ceramic sculpture
and foundations, with an emphasis on cross-disciplinary/inter-media studies in all
three areas.
