SLU North Country Symposium To Focus On Regional Economic Development Council
CANTON - St. Lawrence University's 10th North Country Symposium will be held on campus Monday, October 31, allowing participants to strategize on "Working with the North Country Regional Economic Development Council." The event had been held annually in the spring, but has moved to a fall schedule. It will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Eben Holden Conference Center.
Clarkson University President Anthony Collins, co-chair of the North Country Regional Economic Development Council formed recently by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, will speak about the council. Rod Howe, executive director of the Community and Regional Development Institute at Cornell University, will give a talk on "Engagement of Higher Education in Economic Development." Presentations by members of a variety of working groups will be given, and there will be a question-and-answer session on public participation and engagement with the council.
The event is open to the public, free of charge, but advance registration is requested. Information and registration materials are available online at northcountrysymposium.org.
