North Country Symposium At St. Lawrence April 9
CANTON - St. Lawrence University will host the 6th Annual North Country Symposium
on Wednesday, April 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Eben Holden Conference Center
on campus.
The symposium is sponsored by the University's Ellen C. Burt '42 Endowment
and participation by regional government, business, education, planning
and environmental organizations is welcome. This year's theme is "Resources
for North Country Sustainability."
The featured speaker is Charles Fluharty, director of policy programs for
the Rural Policy Research Institute, the only national policy institute
in the country dedicated solely to assessing the impact of public policy
on rural areas.
Progress reports on new community development initiatives in the region
will also be given. In addition, time will be allotted for participants
to meet as action/research teams to make plans for the coming year.
