ST. LAWRENCE GALLERY HIGHLIGHTS WORK OF TWO SENIOR STUDENTS

CANTON – Works by two seniors at St. Lawrence University will be presented
in the Richard F. Brush Art Gallery from April 13 through June 7; a reception
for both will be held in the gallery on Thursday, April 15, at 7 p.m.; it
is open to the public, free of charge.
"Peace Amidst the Roots of Turmoil" features photographs of Armenia
by Aram Muksian, of Lincoln, Rhode Island. During the semester break in
2003-2004, Muksian traveled to Armenia, supported by a grant from St. Lawrence's
Center for International and Intercultural Studies, for a photodocumentary
project. The gallery exhibition is a result of that project. Muksian is a
fine arts major at St. Lawrence, with a minor in education.
"Traveling the Body" is an exhibition of paintings and drawings by
Kristy Collado, of East Elmhurst, New York. A fine arts major and a native
of the Dominican Republic, Collado's work, in part, concerns issues of
identity, language, race, ethnicity and gender.
