The widely visited Internet site referenced a 2011 study from St. Lawrence University that looked at the effects of chewing gum on student test scores.

St. Lawrence University Assistant Professor of Psychology Serge Onyper conducted the study that showed that students who chewed gum for five minutes before taking a test did better on the test than non-gum-chewing students.
