NOVELIST DAVID MACFARLANE TO READ AT ST. LAWRENCE

CANTON -- Canadian author David Macfarlane, author of the acclaimed 
family memoir The Danger Tree and the novel Summer Gone, will read from 
his works in an appearance at St. Lawrence University on Monday, 
February 19, at 8 p.m. in Herring-Cole Hall. The event is open to the 
public, free of charge.
	Macfarlane began his career as a writer and editor with Weekend 
Magazine and has since been published in Saturday Night, Maclean's, 
Toronto Life and Books in Canada, among other publications. He is the 
recipient of 11 National Magazine Awards and a Sovereign Award for magazine 
journalism, as well as a national columnist for the Toronto Globe and Mail.
