SLU WRITERS SERIES HOSTS NOVELIST LYNN FREED

CANTON - Lynn Freed, author of the novels House of Women, The Mirror, The Bungalow, Home Ground and Friends of the Family, will speak and read from recent work in an appearance at St. Lawrence University on Monday, March 12, at 8 p.m. in the Common Room of Sykes Residence Hall. The event, part of the St. Lawrence Writers Series, is open to the public, free of charge.

Freed is also the author of the short-story collection The Curse of the Appropriate Man and the essay collection Reading, Writing and Leaving Home: Life on the Page. Her honors include the Katherine Anne Porter Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and awards from the National Endowment for the Arts and the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. She is a professor of English at the University of California at Davis.
