SLU LIBRARY FRIENDS CELEBRATE PROF'S BOOK

CANTON -- The Friends of Owen D. Young and Launders Libraries at 
St. Lawrence University will celebrate the publication of a book by 
Assistant Professor of Modern Languages and Literatures Marina Llorente 
on Friday, December 1, at 4 p.m. in the Josephine Young Room of ODY Library.
	Llorente's book, Word and Desire: From Marginality to Liminality -- 
Transgressive Spaces in Contemporary Spanish Poetry 1975-1990, was published
 recently. She will speak about her book at the event, which is open to the 
public.
	A native of Spain, Llorente joined the faculty at St. Lawrence in 1997. 
She graduated from the University of Malaga in Marbella, Spain, and earned her 
master's degree and Ph.D. from the University of Kansas. Llorente directed the 
University's program in Spain during the 1999-2000 academic year.
