SLU DONATES TO CANTON LIBRARY CAMPAIGN
St. Lawrence University's Board of Trustees has approved a gift of $10,000 from the
University to the Canton Free Library Centennial Campaign. University President
Daniel F. Sullivan said, "This gift comes as a special and exceptional commitment
of the University's Canton Initiative in recognition of the historic importance of
the library to downtown Canton, our shared understanding that access by the people
in and around Canton to outstanding libraries enriches the lives of all of us, and
in further recognition of the great leadership you have given to meeting this
critical need in our community and your success in the campaign so far." Shown

President Sullivan; St. Lawrence President Emeritus Frank Piskor, honorary
campaign chair; Judy Gibson, campaign co-chair; and Allan Newell, St. Lawrence
trustee and member of the Canton Initiative committee. (Photo by University
