BARITONE TIMOTHY LEFEBVRE TO PERFORM IN SLU RECITAL

CANTON - Baritone Timothy LeFebvre will perform in the Gretchen 
Bence Young Artist Recital at St. Lawrence University on Sunday, 
April 11, at 4 p.m. in the Gilbert Recital Hall, Griffiths Arts 
Center. He will be accompanied by Barbara Phillips-Farley on piano.
	The event is open to the public, free of charge. LeFebvre 
will perform a variety of music, including works by Beethoven, Handel 
and Charles Ives, in the recital.
	LeFebvre recently made his Avery Fisher Hall debut in New York 
City, singing with the American Symphony Orchestra, and he has also 
performed at Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall. He has performed with 
the Minnesota Symphony, the Syracuse Symphony, the Pittsburgh Symphony, 
the Spokane Symphony, the Williamsport Symphony, the Binghamton Symphony, 
the Syracuse Chamber Music Society and with the Marlboro Music Festival. 
On the operatic stage, LeFebvre has appeared with the Tri-Cities Opera, 
the Sarasota Opera, the Indianapolis Opera, Opera Theater of Pittsburgh, 
Central Florida Lyric Opera and the Ithaca Opera. He has received many 
awards for his performances and is an adjunct professor at SUNY 
Binghamton.
	The Young Artists Series was established by contributions from 
the family and friends of Gretchen Bence, a 1950 graduate of St. Lawrence 
and a professional opera singer, following her receipt of an honorary 
degree from St. Lawrence in 1985.
