LEE MARTIN BEGINS WRITERS SERIES AT ST. LAWRENCE
CANTON - Author Lee Martin begins the Writers Series at St. Lawrence University with
an appearance on Thursday, September 21, at 8 p.m. in the Common Room of Sykes
Residence Hall. The event is open to the public, free of charge.
Martin is the author of the novel The Bright Forever, a finalist for the 2006
Pulitzer Prize in fiction. He is also the author of two memoirs, From Our
House and Turning Bones; the novel Quakertown; and the story collection The
Least You Need To Know. Martin has won the Mary McCarthy Prize in short
fiction and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the
Ohio Arts Council. He is a professor of English and director of creative
writing in the MFA program at The Ohio State University.
This year's series will also include Quraysh Ali Lansana, November 2; Thomas
Lynch, November 10; Percival Everett, November 30; Thaddeus Rutkowski,
January 25; Naomi Guttman, February 8; Nick Carbó, March 8; Lynn Freed,
March 12; and Trudy Lewis, April 26.
