Laurentian Singers Performing Christmas Concerts On Campus & At Edwards Opera House

CANTON - The Laurentian Singers' 13th Annual Christmas Concert and Carol Sing will take place on Friday, December 7, at 7:30 p.m. at the Edwards Opera House, and Saturday, December 8, at 2 p.m. in Gunnison Memorial Chapel on campus. Tickets, at $6 each, will be available at the door for the Edwards Opera House concert; the campus concert is free of charge.

The concert theme is "Bach 'n' Carols," and is directed by Barry Torres, with accompanist Barbara Phillips-Farley and members of the St. Lawrence University String Orchestra, directed by Christian Hosmer. There will be music for Advent and Christmas by Johann Sebastian Bach, along with German Christmas chorales and a carol sing-along.

The Laurentian Singers, a select coeducational choir of undergraduate singers, has maintained a wide-ranging repertoire throughout its 66-year history, drawn from musics of many styles and countries, reflecting the spirit of the liberal arts experience at St. Lawrence. The Laurentian Singers includes undergraduate students who represent a variety of academic majors and interests.
