SLU OFFERING 'KRISTIN'S STORY,' ABOUT RAPE AND SUICIDE

CANTON - "Kristin's Story," presented by Andrea Cooper about her daughter Kristin, will be at St. Lawrence University on Monday, September 24, at 8 p.m. in Gulick Theatre. It is open to the public, free of charge.

Kristin Cooper, a Baker University student and member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority, committed suicide on New Year's Eve in 1995. After that, her parents learned that she had been the victim of an acquaintance rape. Her mother, Andrea Cooper, a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority, has been giving presentations on college campuses throughout the country, in an effort to increase awareness of both rape and suicide, and to educate students about both issues.
