RITUAL ARTS IN TIBETAN HEALING TOPIC FOR SLU TALK

CANTON - Anne C. Klein, a professor of religious studies at Rice 
University in Houston, will give a lecture on "Healing and the Ritual 
Arts of Tibet" on Monday, April 5, at 7 p.m. in Room 123 of the 
Griffiths Arts Center at St. Lawrence University.
	The event, which is open to the public free of charge, is part 
of the St. Lawrence University Festival of the Arts, which this year 
explores Tibetan views of health and healing.
	Klein teaches courses in Buddhism, women's studies and Tibetan 
language. She is the author of four books, including Meeting the Great 
Bliss Queen: Buddhists, Feminists and the Art of the Self and Path to 
the Middle: Oral Madhyamika Philosophy in Tibet. Klein is also a founding 
co-director of Dawn Mountain, a Tibetan temple, community center and 
research institute in Houston.
	Her talk will introduce central medical principles of Tibet and 
explore meditative rituals practiced by Tibetan Buddhists.
