FINAL SLU WRITERS SERIES EVENT FEATURES ANTHONY KELLMAN

CANTON – Poet Anthony Kellman will speak and read from his work in 
the final event of the St. Lawrence Writers Series this academic year, 
on Thursday, April 22, at 8 p.m. in Eben Holden. The event is open 
to the public, free of charge.
	Kellman was born in Barbados and teaches creative writing at 
Augusta State University. He is the author of three books of 
poetry, Wings of A Stranger (2000), The Long Gap (1996), and 
Watercourse (1990); and two novels, The Coral Rooms (1994) and The 
Houses of Alphonso (2004). A recipient of a National Endowment for 
the Arts fellowship, he is editor of the first full-length U.S. 
anthology of English-speaking Caribbean poetry, Crossing Water.
      His reading is supported by the Sandra Nelson Memorial Poetry 
Fund at St. Lawrence University.
