ST. LAWRENCE PROFESSOR TO BE ORDAINED

CANTON – St. Lawrence University Assistant Professor of Religious Studies 
Kelley A. Raab will be ordained as a minister in the United Church of Christ 
in a ceremony to be held on campus, on Sunday, June 12, at 4 p.m. in Gunnison 
Memorial Chapel. The event is open to the public, and will be followed by 
a reception in Dean-Eaton Lounge.
	Raab, a faculty member since 1999, will be ordained into the service of 
Christian ministry by the Black River-St. Lawrence Association of the New York 
Conference, United Church of Christ.  The Reverend David Van Epps, of Canton, 
Association Church and Ministry Chair, will officiate, and a sermon will be 
offered by University Chaplain Kathleen Buckley. 
	A graduate of Colgate University, Raab holds a master of divinity degree 
from the Chicago Theological Seminary, a master's degree from the University of 
Chicago and the Ph.D. from the University of Ottawa. She is the author of the 
book When Women Become Priests: The Catholic Women's Ordination Debate 
(Columbia University Press, 2000).
