Modern 'Fairy Tale' Author Kate Bernheimer Speaking In SLU Writers Series
CANTON - Kate Bernheimer, recently called "one of the living masters of the fairy tale," will speak and read from recent work in an appearance at St. Lawrence University on Thursday, October 18, at 8 p.m. in the Common Room of Sykes Residence Hall. The event, part of the University's Writers Series, is open to the public free of charge.
Bernheimer is the author of four books of fiction, most recently the final novel in a trilogy, The Complete Tales of Lucy Gold (2011). She has edited three anthologies, including My Mother She Killed Me, My Father He Ate Me: Forty New Fairy Tales (2010), winner of the World Fantasy Award. Bernheimer teaches at the University of Arizona, and is founding and acting editor of Fairy Tale Review.
