LECTURE PLANNED ON AFRO-LATINO IMAGINARY

CANTON - “Triple Consciousness: The Afro-American Imaginary” is the title of a lecture presented at St. Lawrence University on Friday, March 25, 3 p.m., in Hepburn 218. The event is open to the public, free of charge.
Dr. Juan Flores, professor of sociology at the City University of New York, will explore Afro-Latino culture and history and the cultural impact of what he terms of transnational communities as exemplified by Puerto Rican and Dominican cases. His work has centered on the cultural experiences of Puerto Rican communities in the United states, with a focus on Latin music and literature.
