Syracuse University Economist To Speak At SLU
CANTON - Syracuse University Professor of Economics Jerry Evensky will give a talk called "Adam Smith on Trust, Faith, and the Human Prospect" on Wednesday, February 11, at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of Hepburn Hall. The event, part of the Contemporary Issues Forum, is open to the public, free of charge.
At Syracuse, Evensky is also the Laura J. and L. Douglas Meredith Professor for Teaching Excellence. He holds a B.A. in economics from Washington University; an M.Ed. in secondary education from the University of Missouri at St. Louis; and the Ph.D. in economics from Syracuse. Evensky spent six years as a social studies teacher in the Webster Groves School District in Missouri.
Evensky is the author of several books, including Economics: Ideas and Issues For a Sustainable World and Adam Smith's Moral Philosophy: A Historical and Contemporary Perspective on Markets, Law, Ethics, and Culture.
The Contemporary Issues Forum brings experts and participants in the making of news to campus throughout the academic year.
