SLU ADVANCEMENT V.P. HIRES ASSISTANT

CANTON - Valerie W. Ingram, of Canton, has been appointed 
assistant to the vice president of University advancement at 
St. Lawrence University. Ingram began her new job November 18.
	She had worked since 1992 as a paralegal specializing 
in bankruptcy proceedings in the office of attorney Paul M. 
Fischer in Canton. From 1983 to 1990, Ingram was employed in a 
variety of capacities in the library at St. Lawrence, and from 
1990 to 1992, she was a bookkeeper in the office of late Canton 
attorney David R. Garner. She has also been involved with the 
Canton Day Care Center, the Unitarian Universalist Church in 
Canton and the Potsdam Co-Op, and she has been a parent 
volunteer in the Canton Central School system.
	A graduate of the University of Rochester, Ingram has 
done graduate work in American folk culture and museum studies, 
through the National Museum. 
	At St. Lawrence, she will coordinate all activities 
involving Vice President for University Advancement Michael P. 
Archibald, including office and budget management, correspondence, 
research and scheduling.
