'FACES OF HOMELESSNESS' PANEL PRESENTED AT SLU

CANTON - "Faces of Homelessness," a panel presentation by
individuals who are or have been homeless, will be given at
St. Lawrence University on Tuesday, February 12, at 7 p.m. in
the Common Room of Sykes Residence Hall. It is open to the
public, free of charge.
The National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty
estimates that as many as 800,000 Americans are homeless on
any given night, and between two and three million are homeless
for at least part of the year, as they drift in and out of
temporary housing. The panel "Faces of Homelessness" is a
presentation of panel members' personal stories, to help
audiences understand who and why people become homeless, and
gain a deeper awareness of the reality of not having a home
in America.
Panels are organized by the National Coalition for the
Homeless, the nation's oldest and largest advocacy group of
individuals and organizations committed to preventing and ending
homelessness.
For more information, contact Anne Townsend, project
director of the David Garner Center for Collegiate Volunteerism,
