History Prof. Interviewed by Turkish Reporter
Howard Eissenstat, associate professor of history and Turkish affairs expert, was interviewed by at Turkey-based reporter writing for Arab Weekly in advance of the E.U.-Turkey summit, which will begin on March 26.
Eissenstat said that Turkey's release of two journalists could be seen “as a sign that Turkey recognises the danger that high-profile cases pose for its standing abroad and how they limit the chances of a rapprochement with Europe.”
Eissenstat is a nonresident senior nonresident fellow with the Project on Middle East Democracy think tank, or POMED.
