SLU PARTICIPATING IN 'GREEN TORCH RELAY' TO ALBANY

CANTON - Members of the Coalition for Climate Change at St. Lawrence University plan to bicycle from Canton to Albany this weekend, as part of the "Green Torch Relay."

The event, from Sunday, October 28, to Monday, October 29, is aimed at raising awareness of climate change. The participants will connect with other participants from other New York State colleges to show support for an event called Focus the Nation, planned to occur early next year at colleges and universities across the country.

Riders will hand-deliver hundreds of invitations to state senators and representatives in Albany at the conclusion of the Green Torch Relay.

Coordinators for St. Lawrence's participation are Nigel Fellman Greene '09, Medfield, Massachusetts, president of the Coalition on Climate Change, and Louise Gava, coordinator of sustainability projects at St. Lawrence.
