GOULD CHOSEN OUTSTANDING FACULTY MEMBER BY SLU SENIORS

CANTON - St. Lawrence University Associate Professor of 
Sociology Kenneth A. Gould has been voted by the Class of 
2000 as the Owen D. Young Outstanding Faculty Member. The award 
is the only faculty award chosen by students.
        A member of the faculty since 1991, Gould is a graduate 
of the University of Michigan, with a master's degree and Ph.D. 
from Northwestern University. His area of expertise is environmental 
sociology, particularly environmental movements. Gould is the 
co-author of Environment and Society: The Enduring Conflict (1994) 
and Local Environmental Struggles: Citizen Activism in the 
Treadmill of Production (1996), and has published many papers and 
articles as well.
