SLU ELECTS GEORGE COCHRAN TRUSTEE

CANTON – George N. Cochran of Kenilworth, Illinois, has been elected 
a term trustee at St. Lawrence University, to begin July 1.
	Cochran, co-founder and managing director of Cochran, Caronia & Co. 
in Chicago, and his wife, Barbara, are the parents of two St. Lawrence 
students, Kelsey '06 and Brooks '08. The Cochrans have been leaders of 
the University's Parents Committee. 
	A graduate of Principia College, with a Master of Business 
Administration degree from Northwestern University, Cochran began his 
career at Lloyds of London in 1976. Later, he moved to Corroon & Black 
Corporation. In 1983, he joined the investment banking firm Kidder, 
Peabody & Co., where he helped develop the firm's insurance industry 
mergers and acquisitions and financing practice. Subsequently, in 1995, 
Cochran served as managing director and insurance industry head of 
Coopers & Lybrand Securities, LLC.
