MIDEAST CONFLICT TOPIC FOR FORUM AT ST. LAWRENCE

CANTON -- In response to the continuing events in the Middle East, 
the Global Studies department at St. Lawrence University has organized 
a public forum for discussion, titled "Conflict in Israel/Palestine: 
Power, Protest and Policy." The event will be on Wednesday, October 25, 
at 7:30 p.m. in Hepburn Auditorium.
	The forum will feature a panel discussion, followed by audience 
comment and discussion. Participants include:
	- Global Studies Chairperson and Professor of English Eve Stoddard, host
	- Assistant Professor of Global Studies Kathryn Poethig, moderator
	- Panelists Assistant Professor of Global Studies John Collins, 
Associate Professor of History Judith DeGroat, Associate Professor of 
Religious Studies Michael Greenwald and Assistant Professor of Government 
Assis Malaquias.
	The forum is the first in a series of occasional events designed 
to promote public discussion of pressing global issues.
