CONNETT TO GIVE TALK AT SLU ABOUT FLUORIDE OPPOSITION

CANTON -- St. Lawrence University Professor of Chemistry Paul Connett
will give a talk titled "Why We Should Stop Fluoridating Our Water" on
Thursday, February 22, at 8 p.m. in Bloomer Auditorium, Brown Hall, on
campus. The event is open to the public, free of charge.
Connett is an outspoken opponent of fluoridating public water
supplies and has given talks on the subject throughout the country and
internationally. In the fall, he was invited to speak at a Fluoridation
Forum by the Irish government.
A graduate of Cambridge University, Connett holds a Ph.D. from
Dartmouth College. He joined the faculty at St. Lawrence in 1983, and
has received several awards for his work, including the 1987 Citizen of
the Year Award from the Canton Rotary Club. He is a founder of the
Fluoride Action Network, and contributes regularly to the organization's
web site, http://www.fluoridealert.org, which is operated by his son,
Michael Connett, a 1999 St. Lawrence graduate.
