LECTURE AT SLU FOCUSES ON NATURAL FLOURIDE IN WATER
CANTON - Quanyong Xiang, associate professor of epidemiology in the Department
of Environmental Health and Radiation Protection, Jiangsu Province CDC (Center
for Disease Control), will give a public lecture at St. Lawrence University on
"Health Concerns from Natural Fluoride in Chinese Water Supplies" on Tuesday,
February 13, beginning at 11:50 a.m. in Room 208 of Valentine Hall.
In his position, which Xiang has held since 2004, he has the responsibility
to research, control and prevent endemic fluorosis and arsenic poisoning.
He has been researching the topic for many years; Xiang's doctoral thesis
in 2001 was on the topic "Risk assessment of the effect of fluoride in the
environment on residents' health."
