FESTIVAL OF SCIENCE APRIL 27 AT SLU
CANTON - St. Lawrence University's Festival of Science, showcasing original science
research by students, will be on Thursday, April 27, followed by the Susan Caroline
Ferguson Memorial Lecture.
Students who have been selected for the festival will give oral presentations on their
research from 4 to 4:45 and 5 to 5:45 p.m. in Eben Holden Conference Center on campus.
From 5:45 to 7 p.m., students will give poster presentations.
At 7:30 p.m., University of Cincinnati Professor of Geology Carlton E. Brett will deliver
the Ferguson Lecture, on the topic "Stability and Crisis: Cycles, Stasis and Bioevents
in Devonian Seas," in Bloomer Auditorium, Brown Hall.
All events in the Festival of Science are open to the public, free of charge.
The Susan Caroline Ferguson Memorial Lecture Fund was established in 1982 by her
family and friends to bring exceptional geoscientists to campus each academic year
to present a lecture on topics of regional, national and international interest.
